Kevin Ryan, Ph.D., President of The Executive Writer, has been a writing instructor and freelance writer for more than 25 years. He has taught successful Plain Writing techniques to employees from American Express, Amgen, Census Bureau, Department of Veterans Affairs, Fluor Corporation, Food and Drug Administration, General Electric, Microsoft, Proctor & Gamble, Supreme Court of Virginia, The University of Chicago, United Way, U.S. Navy SEALs, and other government agencies and corporations.

Dr. Ryan is the author of the business-writing book, Write Up the Corporate Ladder (AMACOM Books), and his articles have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, PC Magazine, The Iowa Review, Business Communication Quarterly, and in other national publications. He is the former co-editor of Quarterly West magazine, and he taught writing for more than eight years at the University of Utah, California State University at Northridge, and Santa Monica College.

Dr. Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Writing & Literature from the University of Utah, and an M.A. and B.A. in English from UCLA. His extensive writing and teaching experience, publications, and academic background place The Executive Writer workshops among the most effective in the field.
